The Sea Turtle Awareness Specialty course highlights the plight of endangered sea turtles, and introduces divers and snorkelers to basic sea turtle identification and conservation.

The training familiarizes students with the role Project AWARE plays in preserving the aquatic environment, and introduces sea turtle species common in temperate and tropical waters.

It also provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify sea turtles and to record their sightings in an effort to reduce the the global decline in sea turtle populations, and to understand the importance of sea turtles to marine biodiversity.

If you’re a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the AWARE Turtle Conservation Diver Specialty course.
